My cat likes to lick fresh and cool vegetables.

He licks almost anything like lettuce, cabbage and perilla leaves.

My adorable cat

But did you know that onions are dangerous for cats?

I had no idea until I happened to see it on the Internet.

There are more risks and situations that we need to be careful about than we thought.

How many precautions do you know about cats and how much do you know how to deal with them?

Living with a cat can bring many joys, but it's important to be aware of potential emergencies that can arise.

Here are some common emergencies that can occur when living with a cat, and what you can do to deal with them.

1. Choking

Cats can sometimes choke on their food or other objects.

If you notice your cat struggling to breathe, try to gently remove the object if it's visible.

If you can't see the object or your cat is still struggling to breathe, seek veterinary care immediately.

2. Poisoning

Cats can be very sensitive to certain foods, plants, and chemicals.

If you suspect your cat has ingested something toxic, call your veterinarian immediately.

Common signs of poisoning include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and seizures.

3. Injury

Cats are curious creatures and can sometimes get into accidents.

If your cat is bleeding, has a broken bone, or is in obvious pain, seek veterinary care immediately.

Try to keep your cat calm and immobile until you can get them to the vet.

4. Heatstroke

Cats can overheat quickly, especially in hot weather or if they're left in a car.

Signs of heatstroke include panting, drooling, lethargy, and vomiting.

Move your cat to a cool, shady spot and offer them water.

If your cat doesn't improve, seek veterinary care immediately.

5. Urinary blockage

Male cats are prone to urinary blockages, which can be life-threatening.

If your cat is straining to urinate, crying in the litter box, or has blood in their urine, seek veterinary care immediately. This is an emergency and can be fatal if left untreated.

In any emergency situation,

it's important to stay calm and act quickly.

Keep your veterinarian's phone number and address handy,

and know where your nearest emergency veterinary clinic is located.

Remember

that your cat's health and well-being should always be your top priority.

Did today's information help you?

I think I'd be very proud if you found out about things that you didn't know.

I hope we can spend happy days with the cats while being careful together.
